The Lich will get annoyed that you are collecting his trash and progressively throw things out faster to see ifyou trip up. What may be of some help to you though, is that the Lich thinks gold is trash and as such will randomly toss out a bag of it.A bag of gold gives you back one life, because everyone loves money! You don't gain additional lives for picking them up though, thatsjust greedy.
